A Quincy native, Dan Hayden, O.D. is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Hayden received his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. Dr Hayden started his optometry career at a private practice in La Grange, Illinois before relocating to back to his hometown Quincy, IL in 1999. In 2009, Dr. Hayden branched out on his own to open SPECS in Quincy with a his vision of an optometry practice offering a great patient experience in a relaxed comfortable environment.
Dr. Hayden is a member of the Illinois Optometry Association and the American Optometric Association. He provides family vision care and specializes in contact lens fitting, including bifocal, multifocal, and ortho-k, and is the area’s only Certified Wave Designer. He also provides pre- and post-operative care for Lasik and cataract surgery patients.

Sara Siebert, O.D.
Optometrist
Sara Siebert, O.D. graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Missouri – St. Louis in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. Siebert received her Doctor of Optometry in 2018 from Indiana University School of Optometry, where she graduated with Honors. Dr. Siebert was also the recipient of the 2018 Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care from Indiana University.
Dr. Siebert is a member of the Illinois Optometry Association, the American Optometric Association, and candidate for Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She practices full-scope optometry, including diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease, routine eye exams, post-operative care, and specialty contact lens fittings.
Dr. Siebert has a passion for fitting specialty contact lenses, including custom soft lenses, corneal gas permeable (RGP), hybrids, and scleral contact lenses. These specialty lenses can be indicated for those who have failed contact lenses in the past or want to achieve crisper vision through contact lenses, but are particularly indicated for individuals with irregular corneas, post-surgical corneas, and those who suffer from Dry Eye Syndrome.

Carrie joined SPECS in 2010, and as our Office Manager, she radiates love for our practice and its patients on the daily! When not running the show in the office, Carrie is utterly devoted to the two true loves of her life: her devoted husband, Dan, and phenomenal son, Landon.
